At WISE Safe House G, Sylvia Sherwood briefs Fiona Frost on Twilight's mission next week. Sylvia also assigns it to Fiona at the latter's suggestion that it be a joint operation. Sylvia instructs Fiona to inform Twilight of this development and they work out a plan together, warning her to make sure she doesn't get in the way of Strix's operation. Fiona then asks about the progress of the mission. Sylvia replies that it's progressing slowly, but Operation Strix was intended to be a long-term operation.

Fiona apologizes, saying that she could have done more for the surgery as a wife if she had been available earlier, and wonders if she could stand in as a wife if it's not too late. Sylvia turns her down, saying that wife-swapping would now be under Eden Academy's scrutiny, and that the Forgers are in good standing with their neighbors, so they'll keep the family as is. Fiona then mutters that there would be no choice if the wife left the role. Sylvia warns Fiona not to plan anything as Fiona leaves.

As Fiona walks down the hall, the other WISE agents pull away from her, thinking she's trying to steal Lloyd's operation to make a name for herself. Codenamed Nightfall, Fiona is described as "reckless", "arrogant" and "icy" due to her single-minded focus and stony face.

In the forgers' apartment, Yor reflects on the terrible breakfast she made that morning. He hears the door buzzer and opens the door to see Fiona, who introduces herself as Lloyd's co-worker. Yor apologizes and explains that Loid and Anya took Bond for a walk. Fiona's thoughts reveal that she was aware of his absence and was waiting for Yor to be alone. Fiona claims she came to return the magnifying glass Anya left at the hospital. Yor thanks Fiona and invites her inside.

Fiona and Yor sit in the living room, the former sipping a hot drink while Yor admires her beauty in awe. Fiona assumes that Yor thinks she is Lloyd's lover and is determined to remove her from the Strix operation and usurp the role of her wife. However, he can't find an opening because Yor is nervous about having other guests besides Franky and Yuri. Fiona decides that Yor will leave of her own free will, as it would be risky to remove her directly.

Fiona brings in Anya and asks if Yor is enjoying raising the baby in an attempt to get her to give up her role as a wife. However, Yor doesn't think so and says that she and Anya will have a lot of fun together. She wishes she was good at more things to make things easier for Lloyd. Fiona agrees and begins to claim that Loid often complains about Yor at work, but is interrupted by the return of Loid, Anya, and Bond.

Anya loudly announces their arrival home as she, Loid and Bond return. Loid is surprised to see Fiona and asks what she is doing there. Fiona greets Loid as Yor explains that Fiona has come to return the magnifying glass. Loid assumes that something urgent must have come up and explains that they came back early because it looked like it was going to rain. When Loid and Fiona talk to each other, they use different words to secretly communicate with each other. Fiona says she's here to assess the status of Operation Strix, and Anya is shocked to learn that Fiona is also a spy.

Fiona questions if Bond walking is a necessary part of this operation and why he wasn't doing Yor's errands instead. With his talent wasted playing house, he suggests they review his operational tactics, but Loid opposes it. Witnessing their argument, Anya wonders if Fiona is a bad person. However, Anya reads her mind and discovers that Fiona is deeply in love with Lloyd. Believing that she would provide much better domestic and operational support, Fiona imagines Loid praising her abilities and choosing to marry her instead, while Yor runs off crying. As Loid and Fiona stare and Anya remains stunned, Yor decides to prepare hot drinks for everyone.

As it starts to rain, Yor starts making drinks. He remembers Fiona's earlier words about Lloyd's complaints and imagines how he decided to report her to the authorities and marry Fiona instead. Yor feels she can't blame him for feeling that way. He hands cocoa to Anya and coffee to Lloyd and gives him a glass of milk. Fiona thinks Yor must be incapacitated since Loid likes his coffee black, but is shocked when he pours milk into his coffee (which Loid reduces the damage to his stomach). Fiona bites her nail at the thought of Loid showing Yor a side he doesn't know, then assumes it's just part of his Loid Forger persona.

Amused by Fiona's thoughts, Anya accidentally drops her cup of cocoa on the table. Yor quickly wipes off all the hot cocoa on a concerned Anya. Fiona thinks that Yor should have scolded her and trained her instead of Twilight to raise a strong daughter. Fiona then imagines Anya training on a strict minute-by-minute schedule to maximize her knowledge and strength and transform her into Stella Star's shopping machine. Fearing this, Anya decides she can't let Fiona become her mother. When Fiona is about to ask Loid to consider replacing Yor, Anya starts sticking up for Yor, calling her the best mother in the world who wiped her cocoa. Fiona tries to approach Anya with an offer of imported cocoa, but Anya angrily hisses at her.

Yor is moved by Anya's words and tells Loid that he will try harder for the family. Loid smiles and tells Yor that he works hard enough because Anya cares about Yor a lot, so he tears up as he promises to be a better wife. Fiona has a flashback of Loid training her as a spy and ordering her to never show her true feelings. Looking through his many disguises, she finds that his smile is at least genuine and clenches her fists. Fiona says she forgot to buy potatoes and is about to leave. Loid notes that Fiona didn't bring an umbrella and decides to accompany her to the station.

Loid runs to Fiona who tells him that they have been assigned to partner on the next mission. She turns to Lloyd with a sad expression, thankful for the rain to hide her emotions. Fiona informs Lloyd that she will contact him with the details at the hospital. As Fiona leaves, she decides to show how capable she is, hoping that Loid will realize that only she is suitable as his wife.

Anya and Bond are watching the Bear Squad cartoon when Loid calls her to go to bed. Anya continues, and when the penguin figure is killed, Loid grabs Anya and takes her to bed. She asks to sleep with her stuffed penguin tonight and falls asleep while cuddling him. Outside the door, Bond glared at the penguin. Anya wakes up in the morning to find her penguin torn to pieces. Loid points out that the damage is bite and claw marks, so Anya looks at Bond. Bond looks away, but she reads his mind and hears jealous thoughts directed at her penguin. She screams at Bond that she hates him, which drives him to despair.

Yor says he'll fix Anya's penguin, but ends up tearing it even more, much to Anya's dismay. Loid tells Anya that he'll buy her a new one, but she exclaims that she wants to keep the one she has because the penguin got a gift, causing her to blush slightly. He concedes and tells her to finish her breakfast and then study while he fixes the penguin. While he fixes the penguin, Bond looks for something in the kitchen and Anya cries in her study. Loid completes his work and presents a repaired penguin that makes Anya look like Frankenstein's monster. Bond walks into the room holding a bag of peanuts in his mouth in apology. Anya decides to forgive Bond, so she and the penguin agree on a peace treaty. As Loid watches them, he wishes East-West relations could be resolved so easily.
